Sponsor a Tibetan Refugee in India

THE TASHI DELEK PROJECT

of Tara Dhatu

MONKS WANTING SPONSORS

These monks live in the Sera Je Monastery in Bylakuppe, India. Each of them made the arduous journey over the Himalayas in order to practice their religion in peace.

Here is the letter they send:

I personally want to thank Tara Dhatu, Inc for sponsorship proposals to the monks in House 114 at Sera Je Monastery.

I have sent a photo of each monk who needs sponsorship. All these monks are staying at House 114 and they are absolutely in need of some kind of financiial help to meet daily necessities. Their only source of income is the small Puja offerings they receive. your kind sponsorship will be a great relief to all of us here at house 114 and I thankfully appreciate your support.

Sponsorship: (minimum One-year Commitment) $140

one time payment, using checks or credit cards.
This is ideally a long-term commitment, so that you develop a meaningful relationship with your sponsored nun or monk. Financial support is encouraged for the duration of the monk's or nun's education. However even one year is helpful. The sponsor will receive a photo and biographical data of the monk or nun, occasional letters and greeting cards. Correspondence and visits from the Sponsor are welcomed.

Your donation supplies them with food, housing and education for one year. You are encouraged to create a personal relationship with them, and they will offer special prayers for you. Many of them are separated from their parents and your caring attention means a great deal to them.

When you have chosen a sponsoree, please email your choice to Wahaba Karuna, the project Chairperson, to confirm and you will be sent more information.
